Elvis Presley Gold Plated Disc “In the Ghetto” 1969

This beautifully presented limited edition gold plated disc of the 1969 Elvis Presley single “In the Ghetto” with the “B” side of “If I Can Dream” marked the return and comeback of the “King” after four years of being in the relative wilderness in the mid sixties, and was Presley’s first creative recording after the much lauded  Elvis ’68 Comeback Special.

Probably one of his finest ballads ” In the Ghetto ” resonates with today’s urban generational poverty and the largely inescapable circle of life;  but is a great reminder of Elvis at his peak. Equally ” If i Can Dream” was written with Elvis’s fondness  of Martin Luther King who devastatingly had been assassinated in April 1968.
