This is an original Japanese poster for the Suzuka Formula 1 Grand Prix held on 1st November 1988 at the famous Japanese Grand Prix circuit.
Hand signed by Senna and dated “88” it was the race that saw Ayrton win the World Championship beating Alain Prost his McLaren teammate. It is truly an extremely rare piece indeed, for the serious collector only.
I was fortunate enough to meet Ayrton on a number of occasions over the years through a very close friend who raced with Ayrton in 1981 in Formula Ford 1600. The last time I saw Ayrton was at the European Grand Prix at Donington Park in April 1993. A year before his sad passing.There is now a memorial to Ayrton within the grounds of Donington Park to celebrate what many observed as the greatest single lap in Grand Prix events ever.
